Neophyte Training - 2023

Neophyte training is back and in person! This training will be held Monday, July 17th through Thursday, July 20th at Salisbury University in Salisbury, MD (about 30 minutes from Ocean City (MD) and about 40 minutes from Assateague Island National Seashore!).

The training will provide a complete overview of financial aid for new and/or seasoned financial aid professionals who would like refresher training! Our tentative agenda will include:

• The history of financial aid
• Diversity
• Working with intergenerational students and co-workers
• NASFAA Credential - Application Process (EASFAA membership required for this session)
• NASFAA Credential - Student Eligibility (EASFAA membership for this session)
• FAFSA 101
• Verification basics
• Professional judgement
• Types of financial aid
• Loans
  
• The care and feeding of your career
• Tri-State information/overview of who we are in DE-DC-MD and what we do as an organization!

This training is offered over 4 days and 3 nights; commuter price is available for those Tri-State members not needing overnight accommodations.

All meals will be provided and overnight accommodations are available in the high rise residential dorm (single rooms; shared bathrooms in quad area).
