Well, fall is almost over and we are all gearing up for the next term. So much has happened over the last few months...Neophyte Workshop, Financial Aid Day, Fall Conference, Legislative Briefing, and of course new regs!
I had a chance to meet the newest class of Neophytes. It was refreshing to see the excitement and energy they had for their career. A few have already volunteered for some committees. Hopefully we will be able to get a few more new faces involved in the association this year. But we will always welcome familiar faces as well on all of the committees.
Thank you to everyone who celebrated the first EASFAA Financial Aid Day in October. It felt good to be appreciated and recognize all the good that we do on a daily basis.
Tri-State took over Dover Downs once again in November for the fall conference. Vice Chair Nasim Keshavarz and her committee did a wonderful job putting together an agenda that was timely and informative. Thank you for all your hard work. Congratulations to all the award recipients. Your hard work and dedication are truly appreciated. It was great to see our colleagues and friends to discuss what's happening in our offices and around the industry. For those who were not able to join us, we missed you. I hope to see you soon at a future event.
I also attended the Legislative Briefing on Capitol Hill organized by the Federal Relations Committee. The briefing was well received. The panelists were truly experts and represented their sectors very well. The staffers that were able to join us were very appreciative and took away a better understanding of how new regs affect our institutions and students. And we were complimented by the NASFAA representatives in attendance.
It really is an honor to represent the Association at these events. Read more about these and other events in this addition. And if you have a point a view, feel free to send us an article for the spring addition. We'd love to hear from you. Until then, take care and enjoy the winter. Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow...
