Salisbury University, a member of the University System of Maryland, is a regionally accredited four-year comprehensive institution offering 58 distinct graduate and undergraduate programs. Salisbury University is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Financial Aid Counselor in Office of Financial Aid Office and Scholarships.

Primary Job Duties:  Administer several integral aspects of the financial aid process. Provide financial aid counseling and support to prospective and current students and their families.  In addition, this position will be relied upon to run daily financial aid processes to maintain the accuracy and integrity of previously established financial aid packages and will also serve as a backup for the federal verification process and uses professional judgment to perform review of all special circumstances appeals.  Finally, this position will have administrative responsibility for several financial aid-related functions including the federal loan default management communication system, support for the TRiO Achieve Program, and study abroad with respect to the financial aid process.

Minimum Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 1-3 years of related experience.  Experience working in a related higher education position or financial related field is required.

Must be detail oriented and have excellent interpersonal, customer service, organization and planning, prioritization, problem solving, follow through, time management, and oral and written communication skills.  Also, must be flexible and possess the ability to successfully handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously and work well under pressure, work independently and in a team-oriented environment.  Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite is required. 

Preferred Qualifications:  Financial Aid administration experience preferred.

This is a full-time, exempt, State position with a full benefits package.  Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
