Position: Full Time/Regular/ Exempt
Responsibilities: The Financial Aid Counselor provides guidance to students and parents regarding federal, State and institutional aid options. The Counselor is responsible for processing financial aid records and determining student eligibility.
The incumbent is responsible for counseling and advising current and prospective students and their families on the federal, state, and institutional financial aid programs, and assisting with the removal of barriers to receive educational funding. With a student centered focus, the Counselor provides information on policies, procedures, and eligibility of financial aid programs.
Specific duties include: analyze and process student financial aid records including federal verification, certification of loans, awarding grants, evaluating/reviewing student files, and reconciling student accounts; participate in orientation programs, outreach and awareness events on and off campus; act as the lead for one or more financial aid programs; and perform other duties as assigned.
Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors's Degree
Preferred Qualifications: Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to adapt to a fast paced environment are important, as well as a commitment to customer service.
